eForcity Charger Adapter Garmin Nuvi

eForcity Charger Adapter Garmin Nuvi

I've had my Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor for awhile now and have only used it for running events. I recently purchased a road bike and bought this to track my bike workouts.

Installation was easy to understand. All the components are held in place with "zip ties" which makes it easy. We had no difficulty getting the sensors to align. The product is small and lightweight, so unless you are worried about ounces added to your bike weight (if you are, you're probably buying an expensive cycle computer), it does not add appreciable weight or bulk. After installation, you turn on your Forerunner and tell it that you have now installed the sensor (consult your Forerunner instruction booklet) and it immediately picked it up. That's all there is to it. You are then able to monitor pedal cadence and speed of your ride.

I would absolutely recommend this if you already have a Forerunner 305 and now want to monitor bike workouts.

I really needed this.

Battery Garmin Dezl 560LMT 560LT

Battery Garmin Dezl 560LMT 560LT

I purchased the lifetime card to keep my Garmin Nuvi 360 updated. I always dreaded buying a map update because the maps are updated so often that it just didn't seem very economical. I've been waiting for this type of "lifetime" subscription. You can't beat the value and ease of use of the lifetime update. The size of the map update is around 2 gigs so if you're internet connection is slow, you'll need to let this run for several hours. I have a 50 down 20 up Fios connection so this was no problem for my connection. The upate is fairly simple and straight-forward. After the update, my device now finds addresses that it previously couldn't locate. You'll need to keep in mind that you can only use 1 lifetime card per device, so if your garmin is lost, stolen, or becomes inoperable, you might as well throw your lifetime card in the trash. If you purchase the card froom Garmin, you'll pay $120, so purchasing from amazon (at this time $94.90) will save you 25 bucks. I also learned about a feature of the garmin called "Garmin Lock", this allows you to put a 4 digit password on your device so if someone steals your Garmin, at least you'll know the thief won't have the satisfaction of using it. The lifetime update is definitely worth the price.

I LOVE THIS WATCH

Timex Full Size T5K549 Ironman Trainer

Timex Full Size T5K549 Ironman Trainer

This is definitely a solid watch, but for watch specific reviews see other reviews. I enjoy the watch, and don't have any complaints on functionality. This is my first GPS watch, and so there is definitely a learning curve to deal with. The Timex user interface is very easy to navigate and you can customize a ton of different settings. The trick is it takes a time or two to figure out how to get the "rubber to meet the road". I use this watch for cycling and running. I want to toggle between Chrono displays depending on what workout I'm doing that day, so I set a Run display and a "Custom 1" to utilize when cycling. It took a few times before I could figure out how to get the different display to show in the Chrono setting once the GPS is up and running. It's easy once you know how to do it, but it just takes some fumbling around. I downloaded the instruction manual from the Timex site, and I consult it regularly to make sure I maximize my usage out of the watch (because the watch is loaded with features) and to see if things are possible. Example: it looks like you can't delete individual workouts once you've saved them on the watch (you can save/erase right after the workout is complete). So now my watch has multiple workouts saved to it that I really don't care about at this point. Oh well, not sure if other GPS watches have this issue, or if you can delete individual workouts on this watch and I just don't know how, but this is the kind of stuff to be aware of.

I'm giving 5 stars because the watch is great, no complaints, the TrainingPeaks website is very solid, ignore the haters. Just be advised that with a watch with so many features, it takes some time to get up to speed. Happy training
