Works great! Highly recommended.

Wintec Filemate Professional Secure Digital

Wintec Filemate Professional Secure Digital

I wanted an extra card for my Canon Rebel EOS T3i and the Wintec Filemate Class 10 SDHC caught my eye with its speeds and low price.

I'd previously used this card: Transcend 16 GB Class 10 SDHC. I got it for around the same price when it was a gold box deal but the price has gone up a little bit so there is nothing that can compete with the Wintec at its low price.

Class 10 guarantees a speed of 10mb/s and it definitely delivers otherwise it would not work well in DSLRS that require at least a class 6.

The card comes with a lifetime warranty same as Transcend. The packaging and warranty guidelines listed on Wintec's website was similar to Transcends.

It comes with a nice little plastic carrying case inside the plastic retail package. The little carrying case is perfect for storing as my spare card and fits nice into my bag.

I formatted it in my camera and tested both shooting stills and video. It performed on par with the Transcend.
It could record the maximum 12 minutes of video with no buffering problem of lower speed cards.
It took 6-7 continuous shots before slowing down while holding down shutter.

I haven't given the card a speed test comparison with software yet but will update this review as soon as I do.

  2. Not much to say about memory cards these days. I was a bit skeptical about the Class 10 rating of this device. However, it is fast on both read and write and compares favorably to other higher branded (and more costly) products.

  3. I needed something bigger for my canon sx130is. The 4gb card would not let me take video and have enough room for shots after. This card gives me plenty of room. I no longer have to swap cards during a vacation which is nice. I just put it in and formatted the card in the camera and works like a charm. Great card great price.

  4. i did not expect a brand like this to work so great. I can shoot at 1920x1080p at 24fps smoothly with this memory card. It is a really great bargain, i really recomend this for DSLR users. I use it on a Canon 600d and its works perfectly.

  5. I have used this card in my Nikon D90. It works and its inexpensive, therefore it gets five stars. I compared its speed to a 16 GB Kingston class 10 card that was a little more expensive. Card transfer to computer seemed to keep pace with the Kingston card. However, burst shooting snapped more frames with the Kingston card before slowing down. I'd say that cost/performance of the two cards was about equal.

Actually, if you're like me this card wins since the only time I shoot in burst mode is when I'm assessing card speed. I never shoot that way when I'm doing photography and I'm not interested in Kludge DSLR video. If your usage is different, than mine you should consult other reviews.

  7. This memory card operates well in my new LUMIX TS3 camera. I have been using it in both video and photo mode and the card has operated quickly and smoothly without a glitch. I have done numerous (hundreds of photos) downloads of photos and video using the camera interface to my MacBook pro without issue. I have not plugged the card directly into the MacBook pro slot yet as it has not been necessary. I have not done any quantitative performance measurement or testing of the card but in daily use with a good point and shoot camera this card works great. I believe it is a good value.
